Ottawa/Florida Save the date! Long weekend in Florida with cheap flights out of Syracuse. FUN!
November 7 @ 2:00 pm - November 11 @ 5:00 pm
Save the date!!
We had so much fun going to Florida as a group with the Duckling travel adventure in March. And given the flight prices out of upstate New York (we flew between $30 and $55 USD each way this spring!) we have an inexpensive weekend planned with a whole bunch of fun and zany Ducks. Government workers get Remembrance Day off and it can be an easy long weekend around Nov. 11th when the weather starts getting yucky. Average temperature in Central Florida in November is 27 degrees. Party with the Florida Duckling chapter and have an incredible weekend. With the vintage room rates running about $110-$220 per night (depending on how upgraded the rooms are) we can’t go to Toronto that cheaply. We’ve had them waive the membership and have hammered Secrets down to $30 a day for resort fees. It’s very affordable. Especially if you double, triple or more up on the rooms.
It’s at the beautiful clothing optional Secrets Hideaway Resort near Disney in Kissimmee just outside of Orlando. This is not your parents Disney vacation. It’s about fun, sexy pool parties, margaritas, dancing naked, sunshine, drinks by the pool, volleyball, hot tubs, games with other Ducks, a walkabout, and BBQ’s among so much more.
Have a look at the 360 tour of the Secrets resort (www.optiview360.com/secrets) and choose your hotel room (either modest or newly renovated with a variety of interesting additions). You can wear (or not wear) anything you desire.
And throughout all this we will be based at the Secrets resort with a full disco, lounging areas, hot tubs, pool, tiki bar, playrooms, and eating area. It’s a 5 duck resort. We will have a chance to connect with the Central Florida chapter of the Ducklings who number over 2,000 and all want to meet you. Safe, connected, community it will be like martini camp only with less rules and more laughs.
The early plan is to fly down Thursday night Nov 7th and fly back on Monday Nov 11th. Which means you need to call in sick or away on Friday Nov 8, or miss a day with the group. We are watching the flights for the best rates. Which is why there will be an October 1st deadline to book so we can organize the flights. You can stay longer but we can’t organize ground transportation or events outside of the window.
Prices for hotel rooms are posted here. There are four categories of rooms from “vintage” to gorgeously renovated. We’ve negotiated a better deal for Ducklings. It’s the posted price plus $30 a day. No other membership rates, resort fees etc. Tell the front desk that Frederick (the owner) confirmed these rates on April 11, 2019 by email to us. With staff changes in the past there has been some confusion. If you want quiet DO NOT get a pool side room. The party can go all night.
There will be an additional $70 per person total for the Duck fee. It covers some food, games, activities on site. You can etransfer Blaik at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will consider you part of the group going. Flight details will be posted soon.
It’s an amazing place. But don’t just believe us. Read the testimonials from Ducklings who traveled with us in Spring 2019. Everyone had the best time. The mantra of “best vacation ever” kept coming up!
“The common themes of camaraderie and conversation and that feeling of a welcoming embrace from faithful friends are at the top of my list. Barbie dancing on the truck-bed open house event was the epitome of everything playful about the Secret’s resort.
I have never experienced such a strange passage of TIME before. The day seemed to last forever (a vacation paradox) early morning hot tub or brunch and a lazy afternoon or outing with more relaxing conversation leading to evening events, dancing, pool, more conversation, the friendliest of caring caresses at any moment. To end a vacation feeling so joyful and rested is rare and exceptional.” WF
“The trip was wonderful. Getting to know the ducks well was the best part. I loved the air boat ride ( could not stop grinning) and the Wax museum … and the ice cream and the croquet games… and after a day out and about , it was lovely to get back to Secrets, get naked again and slide into a hot tub with friends What better way to spend a day?” DM
“What was nice about the trip was the way our fast-paced life came to a
sudden and grinding halt.
All of a sudden, we realized that we were in another world where no-one
cared who you were, where you came from, or who you wanted to be.
Whether you sat in a hot tub at 5 AM or 10 PM, the vibe was awesome.
Basically, it was sublime.” LG
“To say that these trips are life changing is an understatement. These trips are the result of months of careful and loving attention to detail by Blaik and Sue to create an affordable and fun in the sun experience where we can grow as a community of friends and family. The chance to let go, belly laugh, rest your head, make memories, share intimate moments, cement friendships are all part of the life changing experience.” ML
“I will concur – the nest was so welcoming – the rare Canadian duckling, while in repose in its southern habitat, is a wonderful thing to behold. Feathers shed, bathing in the hot tub, the Duckling is totally approachable and spreads it wings to welcome all. I felt the love and recommend to all to make the migration. I hope to keep in touch with everyone – what a wonderful variety of personalities! Much love to you all!” CE
“My Florida trip as a new Ducklings was fabulous. My favorite part was to be all together and socializing as a big tight family, with a lots of laughter and discussion on different subjects. The other favorite part for me was the friendly…very friendly loving atmosphere that was present everyday😜, from every Ducks. I came back to Canada with the feeling that I add new friends to my contacts list. I would do this type of trips all over again with all my Duckling sibling. I would encourage and recommend to be part of the Ducklings family (and events) to anyone that need a peaceful and friendly social environment, I felt the warm welcome by the Duckling group.” DM
“My faves were the house parties and further getting to know people and the lingerie show. What a super sexy bunch of Ducks. Being a part of a sex-positive environment with all of you was really liberating.
Thanks to the organizers for all of the behind the scenes paddling and late nights to get us there.” AM
“Where to start?! It was such a great trip!
The best part was getting to know some some of the Florida Ducklings, especially those who stepped WAAAYYY out of their comfort zone! Think airboat; you know who you are and you DID it!!
We really enjoyed the fashion show! What a great way to safely show how sexy we all can be!!
Thank you to Doug and Jo for another fabulous party at Chez Doug; the inflatable bull was so much fun!
But most of all? It was the time spent together supporting each other and really getting to know each other. It was a truly affirming experience!!” CE and JF
“I’ve met some Awesome people, and like David said, there’s more of an opportunity to get to know people a little better when it’s a more intimate group. So, I really appreciated that. And, it’s so comforting to know I can be myself and safely explore with a fun group of like minded people, and yet not be expected to do anything I was not comfortable with. I appreciate knowing I can just have fun and it doesn’t Have to be anything more than some laughs in a hot tub over a few drinks… or, it can, if that’s how things flow. But, there’s no pressure!
And, The events!!! From barbecue and balloon stomping at the lakefront park in Kissimmee, to the airboat rides in the northern tip of the Everglades, to Breakfast at Rex and Lorrie’s and a fun day at the Cove, to the Ultimate Lingerie Fashion Show!! That… was an AWESOME night! Almost Everyone participated and brought out our sexy, sassy, flirtiest walks as we flaunted our new naughty nighties from the Fairvilla Megastore! What An Absolute Blast!!
I enjoyed all of it and Appreciate the Great Memories Made with an Amazing group of people!
And, yes! I second what Sue said… I’d travel anywhere with you guys!” GV
“The best part for me was getting to know everyone (in some cases, again). The Secret’s trips are a much more intimate setting compared to a Duckling party. At Secrets, you can sit back in the hot tub, relax and really talk to people. None of the meaningless chit-chat you normally get at a loud and crowded party, but meaningful conversations where you can really get to know someone. Without the weeks gap between parties, each day builds on the last until, before you know it, you almost feel like family.
Being an introvert.., these trips have been a godsend. At a party with 60 to 100 other people, I know that when I start feeling uncomfortable within the crowd, there will always be those Ducks I can go to and just… belong. A long tight hug or a kiss, and all my stress disappears again.
This may sound a bit cliquey but it really isn’t. It’s so much easier to welcome new Ducks when you are in a comfortable space and it gets easier when the number of Ducks you truly get to know increases every year.
Yes, Secrets is a swingers resort. But when you are with your fellow Ducks, you are incredibly safe, you have boundless support, and a wild variety of activities to experience… or not. It’s your choice. It really is a good place to push those boundaries a little and expand your comfort zone. Last year, I found myself in the Dungeon cage wearing a blindfold and manacled to the top with rope. This year I got paddled by the lovely Gina from our Florida Ducklings. These things were VERY far outside my comfort zone and, it turns out, I enjoyed them (jury’s still out a little on the paddling but I can definitely see trying it again… maybe with a flogger instead of a paddle). Next year… who knows… Highly recommended ” DD
“Get some rest after all the organizing and work that it took for such a successful event.
My Favourite part was getting to know the ducklings on a personal level and getting to talk to them…also meeting new ducklings from Florida. Note to Mary: I’m not afraid of Oprah!” EH
